If the respiratory track is not moist, then when we breathe in air, the dust and other impurities enter into respiratory track. If this happens, we will be suffered with many respiratory diseases. If it is moist, it can trap many of the impurities and it allows only fresh air to enter into the lungs. So the respiratory track should be moist

If respiratory tract is not moist, gas exchange will happen at reduced rate and this is not enough to support blood oxygen for vital function.
