If a sperm containing a Y chromosome fertilizes the ovum, the cell produced as a result of the fertilization will have two chromosomes. One of them is an X chromosome and the other is a Y chromosome. Therefore, the sex chromosome is XY that is the cell will develop into a baby boy.
