Answer:

The cell wall provides the cell with protection from all the unfavorable conditions. ... Without thecell wall, the plant cell will collapse. Uptake of nutrients would be tough and the cell would be without any protection. Hence the plant wouldeventually die.

Explanation:

Sclerenchyma has dead cells and also composed of various woody cells. This tissue is present in the stem, root and other parts of the plants, wheredead cell is present. The mature sclerenchymacells contains thick inner secondary wall called lignin.

There are two types of cells that make up the xylem: tracheids and vessel elements. Both of these cell types are dead when they are used in the xylem. Using dead cells, which don't have organelles filling them up, allows more capacity for transporting water.

Plant cell needs cell wall whereas animal cell do not because the plants need rigid structure so that they can grow up and out . All cells have cell membranes, and the membranes are flexible. Soanimal cells can have various shapes, but plant cells only have the shapes of their cell walls.

Most plant tissues are dead, sincedead cells can provide mechanical strength as easily as live ones and therefore need less maintenance. Also, plants are stationary and hence require less energy.
