Just like animal, plant body is designed in a spectacular way that each organelle is destined to performed its own function. Though, there is an interaction between every organelles but they are wired to perform their own function.
If plastids and mitochondria were not any different, plant body wouldn't have performed normally. Plastids hold chlorophyll and mitochondria is a power house. Imagine both your heart and liver control blood flow and a organelle to play liver function is missing. ow would your body perform normally!
