In the case of two electrodes touching, all the current directly flows from one electrode to the other electrode, without passing through the liquid. The result of this would be that no electrolysis of the liquid will take place and result in a damaged power supply. In extreme cases it could cause a fire.

If two electrodes in a bio battery touch each other, all the current flows from 'one electrode' to the 'other electrode' without passing through the liquid.

EXPLANATION:

This means that electrolysis will not take place. A bio battery is an energy storing device which uses the power of organic compounds. In most cases, glucose is used as a liquid in the bio batteries.  A bio battery converts the organic materials to electrical energy.
