dry cell is a source of energy and potential difference. so whenever a conductor is connected to the positive and negative terminal of a Dry cell, there would be a flow of electrons . In other words current will flow through the conductor from positive to negative terminal which is just opposite to the direction of electrons. Thus we concluded that there would a flow of current through the conductor i.e wire.

Use a pair of wire strippers to remove a few centimeters of insulation from each end of the wire. Neatly wrap the wire around the nail. The more wire you wrap around the nail, the stronger your electromagnet will be. Make certain that you leave enough of the wire unwound so that you can attach the battery.
