If we kill all organism in one trophic level , then transfer of energy as well as matter to next higher level will stop . it will lead to over population at one particular level causing amongst the individuals . this would seriously disturb the food chain and cause the collapse of an ecosystem even.

when we kill all the organisms in one tropic level then ultimately the entire food chain/pyramid gets imbalanced due to the absence of one tropic level
ex . Grass ---> Rabbit ---> Snake ---> Hawk
When Rabbit is removed from the chain then snake cannot eat grass and ultimately the whole food chain gets imbalanced
