a) In hypertonic solution ,the water medium surrounding cell ahs a higher water concentration compared to cell. The water will move in the cell making it swell up.
b) in hypotonic solution , the medium surrounding the cell has less concentration as compared to that in the cell. water from the cell will move out making the cell shrink.
