when rbc cells are kept in salt solution as the concentration of solution is higher than the concentration inside the cell thus water move outside of cytoplasm and the cell will shrink

When RBC is placed in a salt solution, exosmosis will occur, i.e water from the cell will move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration and the cell will shrink.
