what will happen to the area of a square if its side is doubled​

Area of square =side ×side =s^

now ech side=2s

area of new square = 2s×2s=4s^

area increases 4 times

Answer: 4x^2.

Let the side of a square be x.

Then its area will be x^2.

But now its side is doubled so its side will be, 2x.

Then its area will be, (2x)^2= 4x^2.
