If each of the edge is halved then its new edge is = a/2

Then its volume is a/2 * a/2 * a/2

=a^3/8

So it is 1/8th of the real volume

 \bf(here \: is \: your \: answer) \\   (solution)

we know that:

volume of cube = a³

where, a is the side or length of edge of cube.

So, here

if the length of edges of cube is halved

=> side of cube = a / 2

=> volume = (a/2)³

= a³ / 2³

= a³ / 8

Hence

when the edge length is halved then the volume of cube become 1/8 of the volume before.
