let us assume the edge of cube be 10 cm
volume =a^3
=10^3 =1000 cubic cm
If the edge of cube is reduced to half then
length of edge=5 cm
volume =5^3
=125 cubic cm
therefore by our observation if the length of cube is halved then volume of cube be decrease by 4times
