◆Before jumping into the answer let's note that plant cell has a cell wall surrounding it whereas the animal cell has no such rigid coverings.
◆When these cells are put in hypotonic solution I.e. less concentrated solution then water starts moving from the solution to the cell.
◆As a result of this net movement of water into the cell, the cell expands
◆After a period of time, the animal cell bursts as it reached the maximum level of its expansion.
◆Whereas the plant cell, due to the presence of rigid cell wall it does not burst but just expand.
