If there were no nitrogen in our air, human, animals and plants would all die. Nitrogencomprises 78% of the earth's atmosphere and it is critically important to all life on earth. Assuming the nitrogen in our air was replaced with oxygen, humans would die because our lungs would not be able tohandle so much oxygen.

Everyone Dies™
The proteins in your body, as well as DNA, all contain lots of nitrogen. These would literally fall to pieces, killing you, and every living being on Earth, instantly.
Even if we just limit ourselves to molecular nitrogen, Everyone Dies™. Atmospheric pressure would instantly decrease by around 80%. This would result in water evaporating very rapidly. Puddles in hot areas would start boiling. Human beings would dehydrate very quickly. All that extra water vapor in the air would act as a greenhouse gas, massively warming the planet. Without atmospheric nitrogen, no more nitrogen would enter the biosphere and all plants and animals would die that way, too.
