What will you do if you see a bird lying on the road hurt? Once it is well, will you set it free or lock it in a cage?

Being handled and treated is a very stressful experience for an injured bird and before you attempt to catch it, you should consider the benefits of treatment weighed against this.
Having no real experience with wild birds, if I found one I’d get a couple of leaves and try to scoop up the bird with them trying not to further hurt it. I’d try to cover its face with my hand so it doesn’t get too scared. When I would get to my house I’d probably put it in the bathroom for a little bit and give it some water and bird seed. I’d then call the Fish and Game Department and see where I should go from there. (They’d probably either take the bird or tell me to just let it go).
