Answer:

Although cell organelles have specific structures and perform specific functions but they cannot be called structural and functional units of living organisms. This is so because they can perform their functions only when they are within a living cell. They cannot function outside the cell as an independent unit.

Question 1

  • If Animals had cell wall then they would have been like plants

  • Like plants in the sense not like we will also prepare our own food and all, but in the structure

  • Plants can't move they are stationary and if we have cell walls then we too will become stationary and we can't move like we do now

Question 2

  • We all know that cell is the smallest and the functional udit of every living organisms

  • Bur still those organelles are considered not to be alive

  • Let's Compare a car now, say the car is a cell and its parts too work, like they move, they transport stuff, they consume petrol and give out energy but still we don't consider them to be alive

  • Similarly here eventhough every organelle is working they can't be considered to be alive and they only come together to form the living cell
