Answer:

1) If Himalayas would not be in their place, then India would have been experiencing very cold in winter.

2)Also the northern part of India would not have been receiving monsoon rains.

Explanation:

1) Himalayas act as a barrier which does not let cold winds from Siberia to enter into India. As a result, India doesn't experiences very cool weather in winter.

2) Himalayas restricts the movement of the rain bearing monsoon winds to move northward

So we get rain during monsoon season.

Himalaya is a mountain range which is spread from Jammu and Kashmir to eastern states like Meghalaya, Assam in India. Himalaya act as a major climate control in India. It blocks the cold winds which comes from Artic areas. These winds flew from North to South. These winds can cause in temperature changes in various areas of India. Himalayan mountain range has average height of 4000 to 6000m which blocks these winds on it's northern side. Due to this, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, etc. can able to get moderate subtropical climate throughout the year.

Explanation:

The Himalayas are the climatic divide of India. It means that due to the Himalayas the climate of India is affected in a major manner.

#__The cold masses of air coming from the Tibet region are blocked by them and hence we don't experience extreme winter cold winds in the northern and gangetic plains. And this also prevents Mid-India from dipping to very extreme temperatures.

#__The monsoon winds that move up from Kerala towards UP and Punjab and Uttrakhand are blocked by the Himalayas and all the rains are fed to India due to the orographic barriers. Hence, they optimize our monsoon by blocking the passing of the monsoon winds or else the winds would pass over to Tibet and China region.
