When a receptor is stimulated, it sends a signal to the central nervous system, where the brain co-ordinates the response. But sometimes a very quick response is needed, one that does notneed the involvement of the brain. This is a reflex action. Reflex actions are rapid and happen without us thinking

Explanation:

  • If a receptor is accelerated, it transfers a signal to the main nervous system, where the brain handles the response.
  • But sometimes a "very fast response is needed", one that doesn't need the "involvement of the brain". This is known as reflex action.
  • Reflex actions are speedy and happen without us thinking.
  • The spinal cord passes back signals to the muscle through the motor neuron.
  • The muscles "attached to the sense organ" move the "organ away from danger".
