when bile duct is blocked the bile juice piles up causing jaundice.

secretion of bile juice would be blocked.

consequences are:-

1. Cysts of the common bile duct

2. Enlarged lymph nodes in the porta hepatis

3. Gallstones

4. Inflammation of the bile ducts

5. Narrowing of the bile ducts from scarring

6. Injury from gallbladder surgery

7. Tumors of the bile ducts or pancreas

8. Tumors that have spread to the biliary system

9. Liver and bile duct worms (flukes)
