Central asia has a lot of cold winds. A lage part of India is saved from the cold waves because Himalayas stand in the middle. Source of rivers. The himalayas are covered with snow giving rise to many perennial rivers hence acting as major water source for a large part in North. And if himalyas don't have been situated
where they are the climatic contidition of the indian sub continent would be very hold.
