Plasma Membrane is important as it’s a selectively permeable membrane. It’s important function is exchange of gases. If plasma membrane is broken out then all the gases that are harmful for the cell , will enter the cell and corrode it.
Slowly and gradually whole cell will be damaged. After the metabolism is disturbed in the cell , lysosomes will activate and produce digestive enzymes which are very powerful in reference to digest their own cell. So the cell will blast and whole cell will be destroyed.
