plasma membrane is the outermost covering of the cell.
it separates the cell from external environment and protects the cell from harsh conditions.
plasma membrane is responsible for the entry and exit of particles in the cell. it also prevent the movement of Many materials.
it's also responsible for the process diffusion in which ba substance move from a high concentration to low concentration.
diffusion is very important for the cells in the exchange of gases...
if there won't be plasma membrane, then there won't be any protection, no diffusion will take place. and the cell may die...

The consequence of rupturing of plasma membrane
- The cell and its content are kept intact by the thin membrane-like structure called the plasma membrane.
- It is involved in maintaining the lively condition of the cell by acting as a selectively impermeable membrane.
- Apart from maintaining the homeostasis, it also protects the cell and its other organelles from external damages as well.
- When this layer gets ruptured or broken down, it causes the death of the cell.
