Air is present in water. Aquatic animals breathe the air which remains dissolved in water. Thus, the presence of air in water is very important.

\boxed{\bold{IMPORTANCE\: OF \: AIR\: IN \: WATER \: :}}

✔ Air dissolved in watet is biologically very important.

✔ Marine life (aquatic animals) use the oxygen of the air dissolved in water for respiration. 1 dm³ of water nearly contains 40 cm³ of dissolved oxygen.

✔ Carbon dioxide present in the air is also beneficial. Aquatic plants use the dissolved CO2 for photosynthesis, i.e., to prepare their food.

✔ CO2 dissolved in water also reacts with limestone to form calcium bicarbonate. Marine organisms such as snails, oysters, etc., extract calcium carbonate from calcium bicarbonate to build their shells.

\boxed{\bold{CONCLUSION\:\: AT \:\: THE\:\: END \:\: :}}

If there is no air in water, marine life will get destroyed correspondingly. They cannot use dissolved air for respiration, for photosynthesis, and to build their shells which are discussed above in points.
