what would happen if we replaced the wire in a fuse with thick copper wire?

the copper wire get melted inside the glass and can broke the glass, you can replace it by tungsten and nickrome

The thick wire's ignition temperature is high so if there is an outbreak out short-circuit the MCB would take much time to shutdown to stop the circuit. It is advisable to have a thin wire in a fuse
