what would happen to a plant if the rate of respiration becomes more than the rate of photosynthesis?

If the rate of respiration is more than the rate of photosynthesis, the energy consumed will be more than the energy produced. Since, plants are autotrophs and they don't have external source of nutrition for gaining this energy. It will die.

If the rate of respiration increases then there will be a loss of water more and also the decrease in food of the plant.
