(What would happen to iron railings if they are not painted ?​

If the iron railing on the road side is not painted, it gets rusted and looses its tensile strength, and becomes brittle. This happens because of the corrosion taking place. The iron railing is exposed to air and so, it gets oxidised to form Fe. xH2O (rust) which is brownish in colour.
