So, first of all u must know that RH+ve
Blood is a dominant trait. So there is more chance that the child will develop RH+ve blood.
So let's now come to the question.
During first pregnancy, the maternal blood and foetal blood are well separated by placenta. But at the time of delivery there is a chance that maternal blood may come in contact with the some RH+ve blood of foetus. You must be knowing that RH-ve blood doesn't contain RH antigens but RH +very blood has RH antigen. So mother starts producing antibodies against RH antigen in her blood(which has leaked from foetal blood). But in her subsequent pregnancies the RH antibody from mother's blood may leak into foetal blood. This could destroy foetal RBCs which may be fatal. This may also cause severe anaemia or severe jaundice. This condition is called Erythroblastosis foetalis.
