If the earth stopped spinning the atmosphere will be still in motion with the earth's original speed that is 1100 mph. Due to this all the land masses will get detached from its bedrock it means all the buildings, trees and so on will be swept away. If earth stopped spinning there will be permanent day or nighttime forever and there will be no tides occuring.

If the Earth did not rotate, it would be impossible to sustain life on the planet.

  • Rotation of the Earth causes the phenomena of day and night.
  • If the concept of rotation did not exist the phenomena of day and night would not exist too.
  • The side of the Earth facing the sun would remain fuming hot forever and the side which does not face the sun would remain icy cold forever.
  • Optimum conditions are required to sustain the life of any living organisms. These extreme temperatures would hamper the formation of life on the planet altogether.
  • Earth would remain lifeless for eternity.
