It would become an utter chaos if east India company was defeated in the 1857 uprising.

Because, only after 1857 the fight for one nation has increased and brought everyone under one roof,

Today we call it as India.

In simple words, India would have been freed by British, but in pieces and not in form of one united nation.

The face of India would be different at that.

The real issue was not patriotism but rather religion behind the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857.

Hence religious sentiments made the Indians unite rather than the country.

At that time there was no democracy in the country, and if the British left at that time, may be India would have been left at the mercy of small and big rulers who would then fight internally to make more pieces of the country.
