according to William Shakespeare in the poem Not Marble nor the gilded monuments the point is quite confident of his work and says that he can immortalize his friends not buy erecting in his name a straight monuments but by referring to him in his poem which will outlive the monuments because these monuments will stand it analyst by the ravages of time as time and tide are safe for none and hence he can actually make his Comrades immortalized by the symbol of his affection to them referring to them in his poems which will surely lift to the end day and up to then he will live in the and dwell in the eyes of his companions

Central idea of the sonnet "Not marble nor the gilded monuments" is to specify that not marbles nor the monuments can withstand the power of time. This sonnet is about time and immortalization. The poet claims that his poem will immortalize his dear one whereas all monuments and statues will meet the dust.
