The body can produce some of the molecules it requires to sustain health, however, the ones the body cannot make is the sources coming from the diet. The amino acids are small molecules, which combines together in a different pattern to form a protein.

Essential amino acids, which are 20 are those that the body can't produce and only can be attained through diet. If the essential amino acids are deficient in the foods, the first response of the body is to dissociate the tissues of the muscles to access the amino acids it comprises so it can use them.
