When zinc is added to Iron sulphate solution We observe:

  • When zinc is added to Iron sulphate solution We observe:Change of pale green colour to white colour
  • When zinc is added to Iron sulphate solution We observe:Change of pale green colour to white colour Displacement reaction takes place as zinc is more reactive than iron

Equation :

Equation : Zn+FeSO4----->ZnSO4+Fe

Equation : Zn+FeSO4----->ZnSO4+Fe (green. (white

When zinc is added to a solution of iron sulphate, Zinc displaces Iron from its compound because Zinc is more reactive than Iron.

Equation : FeSO4 + Zn -> ZnSO4 + Fe
