A thermal power station is a power station in which heat energy is converted to electric power. In most of the places in the world the turbine is steam-driven.

The thermal power plant is a power plant where steam is used to drive a steam turbine. This turbine is connected to an electrical generater.After this , the water is condenced and may be used again.This is known as Rankine cycle.There are different procedures that can be used to heat the water.;
