The radius of the atomic nucleus is of the order of a few fermi, ( 1 fermi (fm)= 10^-13 cm). The nuclear radius R of a nucleus containing A nucleons is given by R =R• A⅓, where R• is a constant, its value depending on the method used to measure the nuclear radius. Its accepted value is R• = 1.2 fm. So nuclear radius varies from about 1.2 fm to 7.45fm.

The atomic size is of the order of a few Angstrom Unit (1 A° = 10^-8 cm).

So nucleus occupies a tiny space within the atom.
