To make it into a line we use the two point equation

x1 = -3 x2 = 1

y1 = -2 y2 = 6

y- y1 =  (\frac{y2 - y1}{x2 - x1} )(x - x1) \\ y - ( - 2) =\frac{(6 - ( - 2))}{(1 - ( - 3))}(x - ( - 3)) \\ y + 2 =  (\frac{6 + 2}{1 + 3} )(x + 3) \\ y + 2 =  \frac{8}{4} (x + 3) = 2(x + 3) \\ y + 2 = 2x + 6 \\ 2x - y + 4 = 0

Therefore the equation of the line passing through the points is

2x-y+4 = 0

y = 2x+4 (This is of the form y=mx+c)

Where, slope = 2

y-intercept = c = 4
