Mansabdars were high ranking officials in the Mughal empire. They governed the empire and commanded its armies in the name of the emperor. ... Thus, those mansabdars who were assigned jagirs were also called jagirdars. Hence, jagirdars were a subset of mansabdars.

Mansabdars were not hereditary whereas Jagirdars were. Under Mansabdari System, The empire was divided into several tracts of land and the Mansabdars were collecting tax revenue and they would get a handsome amount for personal expenditure and to maintain the required number of horses, camels, carts and elephants. They were the highest paid officers in the Mughal empire.
