1 mole gas at STP is 22.4 L
H2 is 22.4L according to ques so it is 1 mole. But Cl2 is 11.4L which is 1/2 mole.
H2+Cl2----->2HCL
2 moles of HCl are formed

Given,

22.4 L of H2 =>> X moles

11.4 L of Cl2 ====> Y moles

We know that " Any gas of one mole occupies 22.4 Lit at STP

so the number of moles of H2 = 1

Number of moles of Cl2 = 0.5

So we know that

H2 + Cl2 ----> 2 HCl

1 mole of H2 + 1 mole of Cl2 gives 2 Moles of Cl2

We observe the relationship between individuals

1 mole of H2 --> 2mole of HCl

1 mole of Cl2===> 2 moles of HCl

so comparing it the total moles is dependent on Chlorine

0.5 moles of Chlorine gives =====> 1 mole of HCl

But one mole of Hydrogen gives ===> 2 moles of HCl

taking hydrogen constant, we finally get The number of moles of HCl is 1

hope helped!
