let the larger number be x and smaller no. be y
five times the larger no. means 5x

when 5x divided by y (smaller no.) quotients are 2 and 9 resp.
by division rule
Dividend = divident × quotient + remainder
5y = y(2) + 9
5x - 2y = 9
by solving answer will be x=3 and y=3

hope you understand

Answer: when 5x divided by y (smaller no.) quotients are 2 and 9 resp.

by division rule

Dividend = divident × quotient + remainder

5y = y(2) + 9

5x - 2y = 9

so answer will be x=3 and y=3
