This is because of Newton's law of inertia which states that an object wants to remain in the state of rest or in the state of motion until and unless acted upon by some external force. The actual thing is that when the bus is in linear motion the inertia is also towards the linear direction but during the turning of the bus the body still wants to be in the linear direction and thus it resist the force and thus it is thrown in the opposite direction of the motion of the bus.
