when a candle burns, it's wax starts to melt and the thread which is lighted buy matchstick burns.the melting of wax is a physical change because wax can be solidified by keeping it in room temperature. the thread that is burnt cannot be restored so it is a chemical change.

Answer:

Yes, burning of a candle is both physical and chemical change.

It is physical in the sense that when a candle burns the was melts and it can be transferred back into its solid form.

It's a chemical change in the sense that when a candle burns it produces heat and light and new substances are formed such as smoke.
