Hey,
When a carpet is beaten with a stick dust comes out of it because initially the dust particles were at rest and now when u beat it,the dust particles are in motion. So as a result of the earth's gravitational pull they tend to fall down.
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU BUDDY!!
TAKE CARE ALWAYS :):)

Answer:-
Dust particles have inertia of rest. As the carpet is beaten, it moves. But dust particles remains at rest and falls down under the effect of gravity alone.
