Hey mate !! this due to inertia , when it is beaten than carpet comes in motion but dust is in rest

When a carpet is beaten by a stick, The carpet comes into inertia of motion and goes back while the dust particles remain in the inertia of rest . It then falls down due to the pull of gravity...
