F1=+30cm (Convex lens)

F2=-20cm (concave lens)

F=focal length of combination

1/f=1/f1 +1/f2

F=f1 f2/f2+f1

=30*(-20)/-20+30

-600/10=-60 cm

The system behaves as a diverging

lens

Answer:

f 1 = + 30 cm (Convex lens)

f 2 = - 20 cm (Concave lens)

f = focal length of combination

1/f = 1/f 1 + 1/f 2

f = (f 1 * f 2)/(f 2+f 1 )

= 30 * (-20) / -20+30

= -600/10 = -60 cm

The system behaves as a concave lens
