when a crystal of copper sulphate is placed at the bottom of a beaker containing water, the colour of water slowly becomes blue because copper sulphate get the molecules of water of crystallisation and form copper sulphate penta -hydrate that is blue in colour then it slowly mix with wayer and turn it blue.

hope this helps.
