your complete question is --->When a current of 100 a is passed through molten sodium chloride for 965s, then(na=23,cl=35.5) Calculate the volume of chlorine gas liberated at the electrode at NTP.

solution : charge flowing on molten sodium chloride , Q = current × time

= 100A × 965s = 96500C

we know, 2Cl^-\Leftrightarrow Cl_2+2e^-

means, To form one mole of chlorine gas, two mole of electrons are liberated.

so, number of mole of chlorine gas liberated = Q/(2 × 96500C) = 1/2 = 0.5

now, volume of chlorine gas at NTP = mole of chlorine gas × 22.4 L

= 0.5 × 22.4L = 11.2L
