There is high concentration of bromine in one part and less in the other so the bromine molecules and the air molecules move randomly and start colliding with each other. This causes bromine and air molecules to diffuse and mix with each other over time.

Molecules of a gas has high kinetic energy and therefore, they tend to move rapidly from one place to another. Hence, gases has the ability to diffuse at a faster rate. As a result, bromine vapors diffuse into air due to their high kinetic energy.
