When a load of 10 kg is hung from one end of a wire of length
5 m, the wire elongates by 5 mm . If the Young's modulus for
the material of the wire is 9.8 x 1010 N·m-2, then find the
area of cross section of the wire. [g = 9.8 m·s-2]

Answer:

Correct answer is 100 m^2

Explanation:

Y=FL/A∆L

A=FL/Y∆L

=mgL/Y∆L

=10×9.8×5/9.8×100×5×10^-3

=10/100×10^-3

=10^4/10^2

A=100

I hope this answer will help you
