when a mass of 40 g is attached to a vertically hanging spring it extends by 0.4 cm find the extension when 100 g weight is attached to it

40 g= 0.4 cm
100g = 1.0 cm

40g=0.4cm then 100g=x by cross multiplication 100g = 1cm
