When a pesticide is sprayed on a population of insects all insects all do not get killed but few of them survive because of variation

there will be some changes in the copying of DNA which causes the variation , and few insects will be developed with a diff DNA copy and even the error in DNA copy causes variation

because of variation the insects will have the ability to resist the
pesticide and they can survive
