a) X is Carbon-dioxide (CO2), Y is Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3), Z is Calcium Bicarbonate (Ca(HCO3)2).
b) Equation 1 :
CaCO3 + 2HCl --> CO2 + H2O + CaCl2
Equation 2 :
CO2 + Ca(OH)2 --> CaCO3 + H2O
Equation 3 :
CaCO3 + CO2 + H2O --> Ca(HCO3)2
